Does YDL have 32 bit libraries to support the vast amount of open source 32 bit linux apps out there?

YDL (for PS3) is PPC, not 32. I'm doubting its abilities, although you could try forcing architecture but it may not work. Also, many programs are created for both 32 and PPC, try and find any of the programs like that.

The reason I ask is, some 64 bit distros support 32 bit apps by having 32 bit libraries available so, you can install them before you try installing the 32 bit programs. I really like YDL so far but, trying to find PPC versions of the software I like is getting old.

Yeah, thats why Linux is kinda useless on PS3.

its not the fact that its just 64bit to 32 bit, the archetecture of the cpu natively supports 32bit and 64bit so it is easier to be able to run a 64bit os and be able to have libraries to run 32bit at the same time. PPC is totally different, it could be emulated but no where close to a native level. the easiest way would be to use a virtual machine and run a low powered 32bit linux in it.
