PS3-Hacks.com / Fedora Core 5 - have any of you been able to do the following??

1. have you been able to change your resolution, i have tried but it wont let me change it, do i have to do it using some command on the prompt??

2. have you been able to connect to the internet?? if so how on earth did u achieve it??

good news i have been able to sort out both issues:

1. i used the ps3videomode -v 41 on the linux promt to fix my resolution yay (for 1080i on rgb)
2. i used setup and choose the network tool, click on to use dhcp, then turned off my firewall, quit out and started linux, then once i was in i choose System->Administration->Network, then i double clicked on the eth0 device and clicked on the box to ativate it, the clicked on ok, rebooted the ps3 and hey presto, i have a working internet connection.

now all i need to sort out is my sound problems, i aint got no sound

I would suggest using YDL 6. Fedora Core 5 is old. Fedora 8 is out so you're pretty far behind. YDL 6 has the most support for PS3

I found a way to solve the no sound card problem i just typed in the following command:
vi /proc/asound/oss/sndstat, and it solved my problems
