does anyone know if its possible to create a custom animated Backgound for the ps3 cause the sony default is animated so i want to know if i could use my own animation...

its not yet but you can take a video you have on PS3 HDD play it & put it in repeate then hit PS button & it will be in background why you send & recieve messages...i do it all the time

thats cool, it might be a temporary substitute till someone come out with a way to get an animated BG, with an animated Backgrounds the themes on the ps3 would become even cooler than they already r

The 'animation' in the default theme isn't a background. It's a wave effect and it uses a completely different RCO. You can modify them in a HEX editor to look how you want them to look, but you need access to flash. I'd just like some sort of GIF support for background images until then.
