Advantages to running linux?
I know the advantages to running linux on my pc but was wondering what the advantages were to run it on my PS3? Any pros and cons?

if you have an HDTV you can get a pretty nice high resolution desktop of 1920x1080. PS3's processor is extremely fast, a whole lot faster than your PC's. A new kernel for Linux was recently compiled that will allow us to use the PS3's GPU, so you have that to look forward to. I guess if you've used Windows your whole life, Linux is a cool new thing to learn about. gl hf!

Pros: you can do purity much every thing you can do on windows but faster it takes around 30 seconds to boot where windows takes nearly a minute.
cons: the only con i can really think of is on some Linux bistros can take a long time to install and can be complicated if you are new to Linux
If your new to Linux i recommend Ubuntu, Yellow Dog, or Fedora as these have a GUI installer.
If your experienced with Linux I recommend Gentoo which has a terminal install and is more reliable.
