I Shun homebrew, and respect sony. Do you?

I shun homebrew, and respect sony. Do you?
^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^
That my friend is going to be a legend.
When I first got my psp I was wild about homebrew.
Then I found out, I thought to myself is this really what sony made this psp for?
Of course not, I'm stealing from sony am I not? I bought a system they made for a one purpose(fun)
But with homebrew people say they aren't going to dl illegal iso's and such.
But they do, and you CANNOT STOP THEM.BUT you can help.
the people who use homebrew for other purposes rather then iso's are merely just wanting a wider
software basis. they want more stuff to do on their prized gaming possesion.
By shunning homebrew your also shunning iso's, you do this my friend.
And I think sony will have more software and more possibilites to be a wider more spread out
company that respects it's customers. The more respect the more they listen.
the more they listen the more they get newer bright ideas for their systems(from us of course) the customers. Imagine if us customers would stop with all our homebrew efforts and put those efforts into something more sane like putting it into sony. asking for more software asking for more updates.
Not sharing games with others users on the psn for instance. not using things like the proxy server to get "free games" The games they worked for, the games that pay for their family and children.
Have some integrity. respect sony, and respect yourself.

I can see where this is going, feel free to critisize me.
Also I didn't know if I should of put this into the Chat* section,
feel free to move it if I put in the wrong section, and if I did, sorry.

Included games of mine for my ps3 are:The GodFather:The Don's Edition,Genji days of the blade, call of duty 3,Ghost recon 2:advanced,oblivion,Madden:07, and I bought them all.

Re: I Shun homebrew, and respect sony. Do you?

That fact is, that as long as there are consoles, there will be people playing backup games. It always has been this way and it always will be this way, NO ONE can stop it.

I would say it's because people are cheap, but that's not really true, I mean ... they shelled out a lot for their console so surely they can afford an original game when they want one?

I would say it's because people would rather try a game before they bought it, yet when they have obtained a copy of that game, even if they do like it ... what's the point in buying an original when you already have it?

I would say that people hack their consoles to open up a wider variety of home made software, but that would be a lie. EVERYONE who has a modified console has played at least one illegally obtained game on it, and anyone who told you otherwise is a damn liar.

I forget the point I'm trying to make, but I don't care. Anyway, the simple fact is that in comparison to the percentage of people who have no idea what the hell a hacked console is or what a backup game is, the hacking community is extremely small, and no amount of hacked consoles or backed up games there are out there will effect a company to the point of bankruptcy. If it did, there would be no game consoles out today.

Re: I Shun homebrew, and respect sony. Do you?

As everyone here can acknowledge. that maybe one of you has played an iso(all of you most likely)
I'm saying this. Have integrity. And to you aka ***dvc*** YOUR WRONG. homebrew and iso's can be stopped it just requires for the public to listen to the laws and have integrity, be honest, and don't steal from the hard working sony employees. You guys might see sony as they are rich off their butts with money but i see them as a hard working group of people whoe deserve every penny in the dollar of a game.

Re: I Shun homebrew, and respect sony. Do you?

Ok, sony agreed to support homebrews (2) Umm if sony really cared, they would close psp-hacks and any other homebrew sites avalible because they obviously knew about the dark_alex situation and yet still did nothing to his work (even tho hacking may be illegal), they had done nothing about it.

Re: I Shun homebrew, and respect sony. Do you?

oh yae your right sony doesnt care at all! do they! they let you hack n smash up their precious consoles at their own will? well you can't expect them to track every home brewer down not too mention the ps3 cost like 800 dollars to make they lose money on it. so selling more systems doesnt matter, your stealing their games with these software and they don't make a penny. support something of higher standards until it is  clear how sony will let you do homebrew

Re: I Shun homebrew, and respect sony. Do you?

I agree they don't deserve to get hacked, they lose money so that we can own a PS3. Then we hate Sony? But homebrew is fine, Iso loading is not...

Re: I Shun homebrew, and respect sony. Do you?

The whole PS3 costing $800 to make is not technically true.

That price takes into account all money spent on development, research, parts, labour etc etc and is divided by the amount of PS3 consoles sold. Once the amount of consoles sold is improved dramatically you will see that $800 figure slowly disappear.

The actual cost of the basic console build isn't even $50, which is why after several years of consoles being out the prices drop to around $100, Sony ALWAYS make a profit on console builds, it just takes a while to regain the cost of development.

Re: I Shun homebrew, and respect sony. Do you?

Actually you are mistaken. They keep dropping their price so that more people buy their product and then earn money off games. You realize a Blu-Ray disk reader is 250$ alone don't you? Then there's the RSX, then the Cell, The MoBo and all the other material inside...

Oh my god, that is the funniest thing i have read online in a while.

But if i may stop laughing for just a moment and ask, what exactly is the point of this thread? To say that you dont use homebrew? No offence but whoopdy-fricken-do.

Use of homebrew is a personal choice, if you dont use it, fine, but there people who do. And if you are pointing out that people have always stolen games, this is widely known. As for sony hating homebrew, well they shouldnt of started their console life with promoting and providing tools to create homebrew. If you have no idea about what i am talking about, Google the words "Net Yaroze" Thats right Sony made a PSX that was designed for up and coming programmers and homebrew writers.

Re: I Shun homebrew, and respect sony. Do you?

hmm .. off cause we´re offtopic right now ... but to the point that sony doesnt know about hacker and homebrew-enabler ... here is the proof that sony know it very well!
i found this on Maxconsole.com
++++++++++++++++++++
Sony: We didn't shut Dark_Alex down, he's taking a hiatus - hackers come to us to talk

Senior Sony marketing guru John Koller has commented that legendary PSP hacker Dark_Alex was not shut down by Sony and they have certainly not hired him either. Koller believes Dark_Alex is taking a hiatus (a break) and commented that Sony does not hire PSP hackers. Koller even claimed that hackers come forward and actively talk to Sony. Thanks Sony for clearing that up, we wondered where D_A got to smile.

    quote:

With all these initiatives under way, it would seem Sony could benefit from all programmers with top PSP skills. Earlier this year the world's top PSP hacker, a gamer known as Dark_Alex who had repeatedly cracked the PSP firmware despite repeated upgrades, announced he was leaving the PSP scene. Had Sony shut him down? Or had Sony hired him? "Neither," Koller said. "I think he's taking a hiatus." Does Sony hire any of the PSP hackers? " It's not even a hiring thing. They come in and actively talk to us."
+++++++++++++++++++

so what ... sony know that the software EVER get HACKED or COPIED!
there is nothing that can be done against that.
truly there are many of guys downloading games and apps to save money or something ...
there are also many people who only use hombrew ... not officially games.

back to the "uncopyable"-thing ... as long as some programer creates a copyprotection ...as long there is a way to go round.

its about his workplace. if he create the ultimate copyprotection ... then he get fired ... he wouldn´t be needed anymore ... then the company has the patent/rights to use the protectiontyp.

so ... but he will keep his workplace like everybody else here or in the world ... so he created some protection ... 3-5 months later he post the solution into a forum (like that or somewhere in the internet) and then ... everything get pirated or downloaded etc. ... then he had to do a new cpoyprotection ...

i hope you guys understand what i´m supposed to tell you.

so dont fight against each other ... either you use homebrew or you do not.
its YOUR choice ... YOU decide. think about it.

i by myself uses isos (on ps2) as a demonstration ... if i like the game ... i BUY it.
belive it or not, but why should i lie here?!
Then I would not have written only at all.

in addition to that, in germany arent many demo-disc in magazines or something.

thats it ... the truth @ all. nobody can fight it on.
