Hmmmmm......... Pardon my ignorance but what is a" Sony Ninja"?

Offline
well for one.... a sony ninja is a person that may or may not work for sony and is hiding out as a hacker, etc. as for the security thing... look at psp, team Prometheus finally found a way to sign sony's code...
Offline
I figured.

i''m not a sony ninja, i don't even know what's a sony ninja

We need do hack the encryption, why we built one program for decrypting using all computer form user of this forum and other.
Mine is avaible 24/7.

I thought the same thing. Didn't say that about a lot of stuff. Guess what they did.

Dunno ![]()

Maybe, but there still some ideas like:
Using mod chips only offline, then turn off when online gaming
Uncovering ways to protect the modchip.
And more.![]()
Although i really don't care. I will always buy original games anyway...![]()
The only thing i wanted was the possibility of customizing some ps3 features. ![]()

If Sony banned modded PS3's from PSN then someone will have a work-around. Same with exploitin the PS3.
Lookin back at the PSP, once the firmware versions after 2.0 came along people thought it would be impossible to hack all over again but now we have custom firmware. It will happen on PS3, just takes someone determined enough and with the knowledge. It won't be me though, I know nothing about hacking or how the PS3 operates, if I did I'd spend a lot of time on hacking it.

south_side - who the hell are you?
they can't even detect mod-chip as of yet.
how are you so certain?
ps3 will never be hacked?
what are you a fortune teller?
dude... you are a sony ninja... or strongly acting like one.
I don't condone piracy but I am lazy and am all for small comforts/convenience.
Plus I'm all about making my things different then everyone else's. Customization is a thing these days and I'm sure you can agree to that.
btw, welcome to the forum and I'm a fan of ashley also.

Siptang you may use your sharingan and copy Sony's locking moves. Then you will have only to use it backwards to unlock it. Then you may promote from Genin to Chunin even without a fight. But in my eyes you will be the new Hokage.

That's interesting. I've not seen that thread. Could you direct me to said thread?

Yeah, I don't remember that, it would be cool, a FAH style program.
Offline
that had been done on xbox 1 already, and was an utter failure. even if you factor in pure luck, it would take hundreds of years to bruteforce a high-level encryption on low end PCs (meaning home PCs).
Offline
Arakon- but remember that the PSP's encryption was hacked
And not hundreds od years, it just depends on the number of PC's, their uptime and that the results would have to be updated on-fly, so none of the key would be tried two times (we would need a server). And if the hackers would be like you, we would have never hacked a calculator \o/

I don't quite remember how many of the processors are usable under Linux, but if one were to write a Distributed-Computing Program for Linux Distributions, we would very likely have greater processing power than our home Personal Computers.
Say, we could leave Linux be, when not using our respective Playstation Consoles and we could do quite well to work towards this Brute-Forcing goal.
Offline
Yeah, still though, we would need someone to write the program. Do we have access to the Cell in linux?
Offline
count both my ps3 and my dual core processor in that project!
Offline
like i said i've my 24/7 and more 3 pc and the ps3 under linux (if possible)

bruteforcing has VERY little to do with "hacking".
there are 2^1024 possibilities for the key, that's 2x2x2x2x2x2x2...... 1024 times. do you seriously think they'd invent and pay millions for an encryption that could simply be bruteforced by a couple of home computers and videogame systems?
