Hi folks!
I recently connected my ps3 to my PC-screen through a HDMi to DVI cable but wasn't able to play sound because I havn't a good sound equipment.
So I searched for a solution until I'm going to buy an other sound system.
I was able to solve the problem by connecting my MD-player through the optical-in with the optical-out of the ps3.
Then I connected the sound input of my PC-screen (you can also take some speaker) with the output (earphones) of the MD-player and started to record to an empty MD.
-->Sound is playing ![]()
Sorry for my poor English ![]()

Just so you know, DVI does not support sound, which is why you won't get sound from HDMI, down to DVI. I have the information here on ALL the A/V connectors.
Single Link DVI does carry HDCP when using any HDMI adapter on either side of the cable. There are known problems with HDCP; the display won't show a picture above 480p when DHCP is not working properly. This is usually because the wrong adapter end for DVI was used. You need what is called a DUAL LINK adapter.
