WOW Your post offered so much insight into this post.
Seriously what is the point of saying FIRST!? Imagine (as unlikly as it is) these idiots having sex and then proclaiming they finished first. Tosser. All saying first proves is that you was on this site around the time the news was posted, is that something to brag about? Telling the world on a friday night while everyone else was out having fun you were sat here in the hope of being first.
Anyway good update Dash this fixed tons of stuff I was having problems with, can’t wait for the next update keep up the good work.
lol ya… if he was the first one to get laid all the time, then that something to brag about.
lol…hell yeah.
bla…bla…bla…
could someone tell me what this hack does please ?.
thanks shitheads.
how about reading the post you fucking dick squeezer
Very nice job, thanks for the update!
wow this update added incredible stability and added the screen size options. can also use my sixaxis with it now :) (had some issues with the drivers then it seemed to just work :S)
the only issues i can find that are a major concern are
1. the sync once lost will never really return in sync meaning video playback is all but impossible
2. when actually using the pc the remote play is very sketchy with its audio playback (for example playing music from your ps3 in the background while usign firefox causes the audio to stutter)
obviously there is other smaller issues but you have made a incredible achievement and this version makes it a extremely usable windows application for me.
well done dashhacker
The next release, v1.3, which won’t come for a while… will introduce stream buffering and audio/video sync. That will fix the two major problems you listed. This is the single-most important issue to resolve and coincidentally the most complicated component to implement ;)
I will be working exclusively on getting this fixed.
Good work dashhacker :)
i no ur probably very busy with shit, but i havnt even gotton a chance to use orp…do u think u can make orp compatable with the iphone/itouch? me and many other ppl would appreatiate it
ad even tho i still havnt tried it great work couse friends told me about it and these comments tell me the whole story lol
Hello,
very interesting project…but I do not have a PSP. Any opportunities to get this to work?
Thank you!
Borrow a hacked psp and run the exporter or a regular psp and run chickhen then the exporter (i cant confirm the chickhen method but cant see why it wouldnt work)
So does this mean i can access my ps3 on my girlfriends pc lets say a mile away?? or can it just be connected through the home network? if it can be connected how does it work??
Thanks in advance!
Well, all you need to do is get the PSP details, put em in the ORP app, then as long as the ps3 is in remote play mode it should work. well thats how it is when using it on a PSP with different access points.
Could someone please help me out with this? I’ve got my Sixaxis working, I’ve got the .orp from my PSP, but it just won’t start. It goes through searching and never finds anything. Any ideas?
try this tutorial mate..

hope it helps
Sounds like you have the wrong IP address set.
Yea I found it. Wrong IP address. PS3 is 135. I was on 136.
Just curious, but would it ever be possible to launch PS3 games?
Only games that support Remote Play… like PixelJunk Eden and Monsters, and Bionic Commando Rearmed. All PSOne games work too. The game has to support RP which unfortunately, not many do.
Damn. Really wanted to record some CoD4 footage. This is very cool though. Thanks a lot for this.
PixelJunk Eden works great, but I’m having trouble getting Lair to work, when i launch it both the ps3 and the program seems to lock up.
So does this mean i can access my ps3 on my girlfriends pc lets say a mile away?? or can it just be connected through the home network? if it can be connected how does it work??
192.168.0.1 ip address range is used for lan, But can someone PLEASE tell me what ip address i need to use to access the ps3 over the internet?
nevermind don’t waste your time, I figured it out. You probably wouldn’t believe from hearing my first comment that I built the pc i’m using now 3 years ago, I have 2 fully hacked psp’s 1 1000 from the first week of release and 1 2000, 8 gig stick on the 2000 with full to the brim with homebrew custom themes and plugins, a hardmoded pandora battery, a ps3 with a 500gb internal hard drive, yellow dog linux installed and fully configured and optimized, and I’m 2 years into a 4-year degree to bome a network engineer. 20 years old, I guess I asked a stupid question. It won’t happen again, I promise :)
Hehehe… it’s ok man. I’ve done the same thing on countless forums and blogs. Just glad you got it working… Cheers! :)
Props on the program though, def in my top 10 programs I’ve ever used. Can’t wait to see how far it gets, even though Im content at its current release, every update makes it all the better!!!
hi… this question was there.. but i am not sure.. i wanna ask which ip a have to use? my friend told me that ip like “192.168.0.1″ will not working, that it is lan ip.. and if i wanna join to my ps3 from school for example… i have to use my public ip… what is true? which ip i have to use.. sry for my english.. and thanx for answer:)
Assuming you’re using a router, every PC that connects to it will be issued an IP address in the range of 192.168.XXX.YYY. Your router, for example, could be at 192.168.0.1. Your PS3 could be at 192.168.0.100 and your PC could be at 192.168.200. Now, if you want to access your PS3 from your PC, your PC would need to point to 192.168.0.100 because it’s part of the LAN. If instead you went to your GF’s place and wanted to access your PS3 remotely while she does her hair, then you’d need to use your public IP address that your cable modem has (you can easily get this from your router’s status screen). However, before you head over to you gf’s place, you should forward whatever ports you need on the router to point at your PS3. That way, when your router gets a request on the PS3 ports, it will send them to the PS3. No idea which are the ports you need to open up, but you can figure that out.
thanks:)
so what does this do that the built in remote play on the psp doesnt ????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????
Run on a PC, and at some point, a phone.
hello.. i wanna ask you.. can i connect to my ps3 from e.g. from school ? i successfully connected at home in my private network.. but i am not sure if it will work from public.. thanks for answer
Yes you can, but it can be a little tricky to set-up the UDP part. Version 1.3 will support direct TCP connections, but will when enabled, will break game launching. There is guide describing the details here:
http://code.google.com/p/open-rp/wiki/ExternalConnection
thanks mate
i did everything the instructions said, i checked over a few times too, and for some reason, when i launch, i hear the bootsound, and then the screen just stays at the ORP screen. any suggestions? i also had the ps3 in remote play mode.
thanks
did you import the keys.orp file? just import it into the program same way as you did with export.orp
cause it kind of sounds like what i did when i first launched it forgetting to import the keys.orp file and only getting the boot sound but nothing else
ok ive got it working fine apart from my ps3 controller doesnt work i have to use my arrow keys on my keyboard how do i use my ps3 controller i installed the driver that came with this app but still doesnt work any 1 help pls
great app, thanks a lot! now… linux version plz :D
gr8 release dash. so i have to ask this. from hacking ORP is there atleast any hope that you can unlock something to play games because remote play is only streaming of video. i think :s. or may be get some kind of exploit. i always thought that when the ps3 came out with the capability of runing linux on it that it would be hacked easily. well i dont know any tech stuff. but i sure would like to learn how to do stuff like this. 10x again ;)
how to check ps3 ip address????????
Settings > Network Settings > Setting & Connection Status List
hey did they ever manage to work it so you can play ps home on your psp
ok ive got it working fine apart from my ps3 controller doesnt work i have to use my arrow keys on my keyboard how do i use my ps3 controller i installed the driver that came with this app but still doesnt work any 1 help pls
Damn this website sucks ass, same shit on here for 2 weeks. No updates at all. At least make this site interesting and post about games, cheats and shit.
There are other websites on the internets.
- Neuro’s little buddy
Very nice.
But it doesnt seem to like PlayTV. Soon as the audio starts orp.exe crashes and you have to use remote play on the psp to close playtv before it works again.
sorry i am new here and need help installing some of this stuff like this open remote play
Any possibility for an Iphone App?
Ace im playing my ps3 from my 10 year old nokia phone now, no lag at all
Exellent :-)
Dashhacker, are there anybody working on a iPhone version of this? :)
Not that I’m aware of.
Damn :(
Having Remote Play on my iPhone would rock! :P
hey can I get a job at this website? Apparently you guys don’t do shit for months at a time and when you do it ain’t much.
Sure, hack the PS3 and you’ll get paid.
sorry ass motherfuckers
Maybe the guy that has absolutely nothing better to do than post “sorry ass motherfucks” is actually the sorry ass mutha fucka? Oh, the irony…
hi well done for working this out however alot of ppl are hoping to play all ps3 games on RP wot are the odds u will evaluate trying this as the post claims you have reverse engineered RP therefore shouldn’t tht allow u 2 pretty much do as u plz with the given software or even have a go at writing sum code i understand the complexities but wudn’t this unlock doors for encoding to ensure smooth video/audio playback even if u released sumthing tht didnt quite work other ppl cud share ideas and knowledge with u thanks
No it doesn’t work like that.
In a nutshell, if the PS3 game does not load and initialize the premo_game module, there is no way you can play it via remote play. Even if the PS3 was hacked and you could force premo_game to load, the game would no doubt crash as there isn’t enough free resources (CPU/RAM) to run the game engine *and* do the audio/video encoding + network I/O.
If a game wasn’t designed for remote play, it would be next to impossible to hack it in, without *great* effort and skill. Plus, the PS3 hasn’t been hacked yet so there is no where to even start at this point in time.
Ahh. Quite sad.
crashes after I click launch, the remote play window pops up then dissapears before I see the dashboard
What’s the word on this? You still working on it?
Yup. Updates can be found here:

does anyone think the ps3 will be cracked before next gen because ive hacked my psp iphone xbox 360 wii basically everything but my ps3 so does anyone think its gonna get cracked at all ?? afterall there is no such thing as unhackable security ;)
I dont have a Homebrew PSP is there a way to share the ORP_Export folder with me so i could use it? would this work? plz reply im really intrested in this:)
thanks
its funny how the psp has hacks rapidly released but the ps3 takes fore ever for new hacks; this thing realy is a fortified monster when it comes to security, i think maybe because its a home console and people have better things to do, the sceen is very busy with other things to realy sit and take a crack at the ps3.
How awsome it would be if the big leagers of the hack sceen put aside their differences and stopped this “whell i did it first and didnt get credit for it” crap and worked toghether like folding at home but for hackrs, i bet the ps3 would be totaly hacked in like less than a week. Heres to all the hackers on the sceen keep up the good work.
please hack the ps3 sometime soon. i have been patiently waiting to play my psp games and ps1 eboots from my psp through my ps3 (with the ps3 controller and on the big 1080p hd tv). while i think its pointless to try and play ps3 games off the psp, i think its essential to be able to play/remote to your psp on the ps3.
Just because you said please, it might just happen!!
Remote play for ps3 – iPhone ??? Work this???
