While certainly a major breakthrough in itself, I don’t believe this has led to any vulnerability just yet. Hang tight as developers and hackers poke around; perhaps they’ll unravel the secret to finally exploiting Sony’s slick piece of hardware. probably wont, but you never know. if theres some way to exploit any executable code then it very well could, thats one of the ways so many systems get hacked is by exploiting code in games. and with the delay there is still a good possibility of being able to get it onto anyones ps3 regardless, so if this all does turn out to be useful all youd have to do is download that beta version and start exploiting.

SKFU has released this early if it is real, gives Sony enough time to patch it. It may delay the public client in an attempt for them to work on the security of it somemore. The thing is if it is ever hacked, Sony will just keep updating it as they do with the firmware, meaning you won’t be able to use it when a new update comes out.

This is a dump of HOME, there is no way any body will be able to run this on their system, the files are purley for people who know what they are doing to find exploits.
Even if you did find away to re-compile and re-encrypt it, there is no way to get it on your system, proxying the store has been blocked, if you did manage to get it on your system and load it, it would probably either be corrupt, or you would get the message saying you can’t use it.
btw, R2 beta sucks.

The OpenGL\ES on the ps3 is odd(some what not user friendly^^) for what i’ve seen in this dump. It seems like somet files are missing(i may be wrong).
I see that the USRDIR-DYNFILES folder contains the main config files such as all the server address…wonder if there is a way to connect to the server and download the ps3 home Application on the PS3.

even if an exploit was found, it would be useless. noone uses this version of home anymore :/, the only people able to use the exploit (if one arises) are people who have this version of home.. which is noone. :/
Not necessarilly….if an exploit is found then sony may not know it exists, therefore it may exists in all current versions. We can only hope :D
This only show the knowledge some peopel have. To used this HOME version to run exploit is useless. The most knowledge alot of us hombrew developers are getting out of this are thing like classes calleded:

a few more ive found but not naming then those are feraly immportan. So the more research we do on this files the closer we get to implementing RSX functions in our Homebrew(only once we get a feaseble ammount of info from HOME or if anyone manages to Decrypt some games and other things).
