Go on the PS3, put a game disc in. Scroll and select the BD game in the XMB, scroll up and down. You will see that the game icon becomes a disc….
In the video, it remains the game icon at all times.

Well I was thinking the same thing about another PS3 being hooked up, But whenever I have a game loaded in the PS3 the Blu-ray Disk Icon shows before the actual game icon. It usually takes 1-2 seconds before showing what game I have in.

Blu-ray drives aren’t that much. You can get a reader for around $150 and a burner for $300.
As for the video, I really do not want an ISO loader. I would love homebrew though because it would really open up the power of the PS3.

So what? ISO made the PSP even more attractive for normal users. Sony makes a lot of money by selling the PSP and without ISOs and CFW Sony wouldn’t sell a number of PSPs as now. I personally bought my PSP for Homebrew, not for ISO, but there are many people buying a console if they know there is the POSIIBILITY to load ISOs and pirated games
Wurd, I was deployed in Iraq when the psp came out, I still have the old fat 1000 series (the first one). The only reason I bought it, (luckily from the BX on base… There were 3) Was because I saw the SNES emu available for it.
If it wasn’t for the homebrew/emu scene on the psp, I would have never bought one.

Hey, only around 8% of the sold consoles including PSP are used with pirate warez or homebrew. These 8% would never be reason enough for sony to support homebrew. when they make big $$ selling original games. Personally I’m in that 8% category that only would bother with a console if it plays pirate warez…

I do not agree with you. I’ve completed around 80% of the games I get. And nowdays good ones come out so rarely that the week it takes to complete a game is well passed before the next one arrives… Add to that, I would only get the games that looks interesting for me. Even if they are free, I would not get crap. :) If I had to buy the games, I would not bother with it. There is better things to waste ones money on…

If I really do like it, I will go out and buy a hard copy so that the money goes to the people that I feel deserve to have it.
I have no problem supporting anyone at their jobs if they make a really great product that I feel should be rewarded.
I make enough money to be able to buy hard copies of things that I love, by enabling ISO’s, it will let me test out these products and then let me go out and buy them if I deem necessary.

You know why there is not a demo for every released game, because most of them suck. So they want you to buy it first, and throw it away after you given them your money, :)
Anyway, It’s not about if you got enough money or not. If it’s free it’s free. And sooner of later, it all goes into the garbage, either it’s a purchased software (game/movie) or a copy. I rather have it as a copy, at least I only loose 0.1$, :)
FYI, also note that buying second hand software is just as bad as copying it (for the creators).
ALSO NOTE, that the distibutors make far more money than any developer, developer hardly see anything more that their monthly pay check, and they will get this regardless how much little a game sells… (I know…)
2 things – why does he keep looking up and down?? he could have stood 3 feet back and done it in one shot. He also cuts out the left of the screen, which is where most t.v.’s have their input shown. It would be all too easy to swap inputs when he looks down to prove no disk. This would explain the sound off also – cause most some t.v.’s make a sound when swapping inputs….

this however looks like a definate fake, just look at what happens at 1:42. he has clearly stoped recording and then started recording later. How do i know?
At 1:42 the loading bar is at the bottom left. However if u slowly play and pause frame by frame you will see that just after the huge brightness and contrast change the loading bar is at the right. Clearly there is a time difference. Also, the camera will never change contrast and brightness so suddenly, especially when the output on the TV doesnt change.

Why is it that you guys want an ISO loader? I see no benefit other than free games, which is illegal, and don’t try to tell me you want faster loading and smoother gameplay. The majority of PS3 games are installed on the HDD from the Blue Ray Disc and content is loaded from the HDD as well, the disc is only required to initiate the gameplay and minor data loading, so having to use the disc does not affect performance in any way. An ISO loader will only force Sony to send out more updates, and use more strict encryption on the next console they produce, they are a company like every other and all companies want to make money. They wont make money if an ISO loader is created. So just dig in those pockets and pay for your games, its not a big deal to pay for something that had a lot of work put into it.

Actually since the game companies sign with sony, sony is affected if those companies choose not to release their game for a console with an ISO loader, granted this does not happen often. And since sony writes the games to the discs, every game sold has a portion of its profit going to sony for printing the disc.
As for Console sales increasing, yeah more people will buy with the prospect of free gaming, however, in the long run money will be lost from lack of game sales.
If you really want free games, write homebrew for the system rather than find a way to screw the game creators.

However, if you could have just downloaded the game chances are you would have rather than paying 60 bucks for it. So a good game wont necessarily sell despite an iso loader.
Every company that makes video game consoles since NES has lost money on every sale of their consoles. The idea is, if you can sell more consoles, more people will by games. Games (even those from 3rd party developers) are virtually all profit and the only profit these companies make. So If Sony sells 1 billion consoles but no games cause anyone can download them for free they will abandon the Ps3 and start over.

I hate all this talking and no release, if someone gets something legit why wouldnt they release how to do it, that’s always the way it was done on the PSP, or at least more substantial proof was given, rather than justa video on youtube.

As all ps3 iso loadings we see some “lag” when loading the data. The longer than normal loading time may be due to that. I do wonder since the ps3 has no lag time when loading up 6gig plus game data files though.

Richbadman is right, I took the file frame by frame and you do notice a jump, Either a HIGHLY unsteady hand was there are obvious video editing was done leading to bashed credibility.

My fav, Iso and Piracy. ISO did not KILL or HURT the psp. It is looked at as an annoying. Sales are hurt by poorly made games. What do I have on mine? Psp-quake and tons of other homebrew. The quality of games is seemingly better with 3rd party unknowns than major companies. So hats off to all you coders of the homebrew. Look at how long Psp hacking has gone on, now look at how many people still do not know about it. TONS, Iso for ps3 will not kill it. Lets look at this How big are game vs the hdd. He said its tricking the ps3 into thinking its a demo file. If someone happened to see how the structure worked they could easily make an iso type file and trick the ps3 into doing that.

If these videos are real then why dont they release the information they have, surely this way more people will try and use the information given and hopefully come across a way to load iso’s. The more information we have the easier it will be to crack the ps3. If it is possible to load iso’s then why not jsut release the information. Whats the point in knowing how to do something yet not telling anyone else, it doesnt get you any were. If people dont know how to load iso’s then how are we supposed to create homebrew and other applications. If these people do know how to do it then they are just idiots for not sharing the information needed to create great homebrew for the ps3.

If someone could read what the date and time was that the “loader” was installed, We could be able to tell if it was installed before or after the release date for madden and Civilization.

if you take the hdd out of the ps3 what does the file structure look like ? is it like the psp has folders for video, game, etc. ? if so maybe we can find the location of a demo downloaded and replace it with an ISO.

Why won’t somebody create an Iso loader like the Nes emulater? Cause I put some PSP iso’s in the emulator and you can see them on the PS3, it would load but with alot of numbers on the screen not the actual game cause it’s a NES emulater not a PSP emulater. BUt why won’t somebody try it?

I agree with you but but a ISO loader is better for two reasons..because you don’t scratch any disks and because there are faster loading times if its saved on a hdd..and for the space problem you mentioned..just buy a 1TB hard drive and problem solved..and I saw them for about $150,00 on eBay.

Something for sure is wrong with this video. I’m not screaming FAKE by any means, but when the screen does get brighter at 1:41 – 42, the first set of words says something about the 2 teams rivalry heating u. Then when it gets brighter it says something else, which it could’ve been because it does change quickly while loading, giving you NFL facts and what not. But the funny thing is that the very next “fact” or whatever is the very same one before the scene editing in question. I don’t know if anyone else noticed it, but I know from playing the actual game, it doesn’t do that.
