Over at GI there is some word concerning the possibility of a Wiimote-like controller for the PS3. According to GI’s sources, it’s believed that certain developer partners already have their hands on working units.
No official word from Sony; however, it’s speculated the unveiling is likely to happen at this year’s E3 event.
It would seem things are looking up for good ol’ Sony.

the problem with this is the same problem that gadgets like the eye toy or that glove thing from nintendo had in the past, aka adoption. with nintendo since every controller sold with the system has those functionalities developers dont have to worry about catering only to a select crowd, aka people who have purchased the device. on that note, most gamers dont just go and drop money for something unless they are going to get a good bit of use out of it, and its likely that this will follow the same path, ie gamers want good games for it before they will lay down the money for it, and game developers will want to see good sales before they start making games to take advantage of it (a catch-22 if im not mistaken). that, and this is so obviously an attempt by sony to take on nintendo and/or try to boost sales.

I Know its not the same as the Wii remote but would it not be possible to use the PS controller in conjunction with the eyetoy to give the same ‘effect’ as a Wii controller?
I saw the pic of this thing… looks like some 1 paint a Wiimote black and slapped PS3 on it…
They will probably use it so they can get there hands on games like No More Heroes.

It’s the only console out which requires you to pay for the use of online gaming services….and please let me stop you right there because if I hear another Xbox fanboy try to tell me the Live is worth the cash cuz it’s soooo much better than the others, I swear to freakin god i’ll slice someone’s nuts off and sew them inside their mouth. MY reasons for PS3 instead of xbox or nintendo…..
Socom, Killzone, Gran Turismo, PS HOME, divx / avi / mp4 movies on the hard drive, Blu ray, blu ray games = 25GB to 50GB (future discs = 100GB to 200GB)
i would say GTA if it wasnt made smaller to fit on xbox 360’s 9GB max dvd’s. GTA could have been so much more, 41GB more.The maps, buildings to enter, veichles, could have been alot more.
streaming films and music from my ps3 over the internet from anywhere via psp.
resistance, warhawk, PSeye.
and so on. T’is good to have sony.
