We understand that we are asking PS3 and prospective PS3 users to wait a bit longer, but we have come to the conclusion that we need more time to refine the service to ensure a more focused gaming entertainment experience than what it is today,” said Kazuo Hirai, President and Group CEO, Sony Computer Entertainment Inc. “Our overarching objective is to provide users with new gaming experiences that are available only on PLAYSTATION Home. Spending more time on the development and on the Closed Beta testing reaffirms our commitment to bringing a quality service, maintaining the PlayStation tradition.
Closed beta testing will continue onward this summer; the open beta service will commence in the fall.

by the time they finally release this no one is gonna give a shit. When it was supposed to come out in October I was excited cause it was gonna give me something to do till GTA IV came out. But now that thats almost here and then Metal Gear Solid IV no one will even be on Home so all that work is gonna be for nothing I think in my honest opinion.

yeah wtf is with all the broken promises, home is been delayed several times now, the closed beta stage has been there for long enough, i’m part of the GAP and there#s nothing coming from us, we need some open beta testers. but they keep delaying.
As a beta tester I’m glad they are delaying the release of home, here’s why….as they hammer out problems they create new ones – if they release it now everyone will hate it. the major problem they are trying to correct is “video sharing” where you will be able to “share” or stream a video on your ps3 (on the HDD or blu-ray movie) to friends in your homespace. It will be amazing and worth the wait when they can correct this.

It is not like Home is a requirement for the PS3 to run. Yes, I’m curious like the rest of you on how it works, but the #3 is starting to get good games, better than anything the old xbox has to offer in the graphics department. Metal Gear Solid 4 is just the begining, and with a software upgrade, Blu-Ray will have a 3rd layer in the future, 75 to 100 gigs. What was xbox’s puney max number again… oh, it was 8. lol. I can wait for home, because when it does, nobody will remember what a Mii is… heck, most people already dont know what that is.
