CJPC, from ps3news.com *cringes*, has apparently succeeded with launching [copied] PS3 games off the HD and DVD/BD-ROM drives. But wait! Before your pants tighten up — do know this [unreleased] method only works on PS3 DEVELOPMENT consoles — not RETAIL units, and neither is this an ISO loader.
As mentioned, no public release yet; even then, if there was, it’s pretty much rendered useless from an average Joe’s perspective. C’mon, how many readers out there own a DEV. unit? Now, that isn’t to say this doesn’t hold potential — it could possibly pave the road for opening up the retail PS3 console. But who knows… Till then, the wait continues…

you know whats funny is that the xbox 360 might get a blu-ray drive. they were to cheap and went with the dual layer dvd(9.7GB’s) which holds nothing compared to the badass ps3 which hold 54 gigs on its blu-ray disks.

im sure that the original dev units played games off the hdd ther is a vid on youtube sumwere, the vid was out before the ps3 came out any it showed what the ps3 xmb looked like, it loaded games off the hdd, it wasnt a hack it was just them showing how the ps3 works

wow u really are living in the past eh? it has nothing to do with rival websites on this side but for them its a diff story. they have bricked hundreds if not thousands of psp’s. hacked into websites and stole dark alex’s source codes and personal info. repeatably post known fake stuff that they came up with. plus much more. go read there forum rules

playing games off the HD shows nothing! there are tons of demo games you can download off the ps3 store and try for free… that video shows you nothing… bet its some demo they are showing you and not the full game!
oh, this news shouldn’t make anybody happy, i could give you screenshots of a working ps3 loader anytime… all that is required is some photoshop…
any news without evidence is just talk… if it really works and you can run unsigned code off the ps3, they’d have released a small test application that would print hello world to your screen just to prove to you it can be done… but till date no such app exists…

at the end of the day, if nobdy ever gets an iso loading off ps3 hd (which it seems it will never be able to do) then that will be the best thing for all ps3 users in the long run. why ?. because developers will pump more money into the ps3 knowing that theyre gonna get mass payback for their hard work. the only thing I want to see hackers do is unlock the hypervisor for decent linux homebrew stuff – and sony can make that happen (but prob never will)
but sixty dollars is way to much to pay for one game if you beat the entire game in two days. it sounds like they need to pump some more hard work into it or im all for iso loader on the ps3

First, I don’t condone piracy, the systems and games wouldn’t be where they are today if SOMEBODY didn’t pay for stuff. Second, where there’s encryption/protection, people will always try to find a way around it. And third, the day that I’m not hindered by some ridiculous protection algorith or scheme when I’m just trying to use the equipment and software that I paid for will be a welcomed one. I’ve only owned a PS3 for 1 month, and I’ve already been stopped cold and has cost me $$ just trying to utilize the stuff that I bought with the stuff that I already own.

He has no skillz himself, why do you think his details were posted all over the web? As for PS3 being unhackable, nothing is unhackable. Anything that is engineered can be reverse engineered. Paradox had a loader for the JAP PS3, but it didnt work on PAL due to hardware issues.
