Not sure if anyone else missed this or if I’m the only one… Nonetheless, it’s mighty cool and deserves a spot here on PS3 Hacks.
Lili-Chan Software has released (in December) an updated version of their PS3 Theme Builder with support for added sound effects. Version 2.1 is the latest and no doubt the best tool for creating/managing your PS3 themes.
PS3 Theme Builder v2.1 changes:
- Added Support for including Sound effects into your theme.
- Added XMB background to the previews.
- Added color to the previews.
- Fixed German / Spanish bug causing the update dialog to always display.
- Fixed Pointer Icon Delete button.
- Fixed Background Set Add button (it’s now consistent).
- Fixed assembly version. The application was reporting it was version 1.6.0.1 in the about box when it was actually 2.0.0.0, now it’s 2.1.0.0
- Some error messages were showing a \r\n in the middle…. I fixed that.
- Moved the “Test Drive” button so it can be used easily on any tab.
- Added support to upload to themes to PS3Files.net – this returns BB / HTML code you can use to post your theme out on the tubes.

OH FUGGIN A! This is just too jawesome ive always wanted to make my own custom theme and rock them with their own sounds aww manj…now if only i knew/had enough time to make a theme..

Is there anything comparable to this for mac? A joint PSP/PS3 theme maker would be perfect. Makes sense to me since most of my graphic artist friends work on a Mac.
Good news (althoigh a litttle late). Mac got a PS3 theme creator and there is no need for an external p3tcompiler.exe. Go to http://rebytes.xf-s.com or http://rebytes.ueuo.com. It supports mono and stereo sound effects. The source code is also released.
