Tipster of the day, Fadil, enlightened me of this little news tidbit… He goes on to say, “a supposed hidden message contained within the PS3 firmware v2.01 update indicates that the DualShock 3 will be available to purchase across North America from early 2008.”
And Engadget confirms:
…an asterisked notation for “Vibration Function” says that the DualShock3 will be “Available for purchase in early 2008.”
I guess they got the whole motion sensor and vibration thing figured out. Whether or not that was even the reason for excluding rumble from the getgo, who knows… Whatever the excuse — it’s coming!

I picked an import up already….a much needed and missed feature. It’s slightly larger…and it’s quite a bit heavier…terrific feel. And many developers are providing updates to older games to enable rumble in them!
I have Dualshock 3 and it ROCKS!!
yep got my white dualshock 3 and i love it though uncharted is the only game that supports it fully so far that i know of… i get unreal today so hopefully that works with the dualshock3 but if its does come early 2008, kool cuz ill get another one…

Don’t even talk. Sony is the best console for spending additional money. You know how much extra money you have to spend to make the other consoles worthy to be in the same room as a PS3? Lots of the stuff you get with PS3 is quite a good amount of money to spend on the other consoles to make them worthy and they still fall short. And don’t get me started on the Wii not having ethernet port. Fuck wireless.
Well, it was announced months ago at the TGS that the DS3 was coming to NA and PAL Spring ‘08, so it’s not really news.

The PS3 didn’t come with DualShock controllers becase of a court case that had been ongoing since the original and second DualShock controllers. The company that helped Sony develope the technology took them to court because Sony ditched them and then release DualShock anyway. The other company were given in the region of $90 million by Sony as a result of the court case. Since then, both companies have patched things up and are releasing DualShock 3 (very cheeky of the other company as they kept the $90 million) which couldn’t be released at the PS3 launch as the court case was still on.
why dose everything good have a court case, like the iPhone there already was a iphone before apples thing it was a wifi Voip phone made by samsung or somthing
People, do what I done. Just buy a PS2 to USB adapter from ebay and then use your PS2 pads on your PS3 with full shock support. Perfect for games that don’t require the motion sensor feature.
my ps3 took a dump on me.. the lazer went out.. so i called sony..get this, thay told me that thay were gona send me a prepaid box cuz i had a year warenty… so im waiting around for like 5 days for this stupid box to come, never shows up..ass holes… so i called back and told them, what the hell happend to my box.. thay told my ass that thay forgot to ship it out…im like what the fuck..basterds… so i have to wait another 5 more days.. oh and this is my second out that i returned… i dont know.. i mite just say the hell with sony and go buy my self a pc.. at least its not gona go out on me after four fucking months..someone really needs to hack the ps3.. thay need to get owned… i hope some hacker out there has the balls to actulay get some revenge on them.. thay are starting to suck my nuts.. i think the fame and the money is starting to get to there heads.. well… i dont know.. i hope something good will be out soon as fars as homenbrew go’s good luck hackers.. i hope you show sony whats up. i will even donate when that time comes… later.

I had a dualshock 3 in October bought from Japan. These babies are beautiful and they can’t crap on the pieces of heavy brick that are XBOX360 controllers. PS3 is a ten times better machine, its quiet, BlueRay and it’s not bloody Microsoft! Suck my #@!$ Bill Gates you rich @#$hole!
I was thinking about buying the DS3 from a import retailer until it said only ships if u buy a imported ps3 system.. but they only got 40 gig’s that cant backward ps2 games. i dont need it so i waited. and then i found out that white ones are out now. So i might order some since if they do bring out the ds3 here in the US only the black wil be available right? and does the import connect to a US ps3? im hoping it does. and i heard the ds3 is the same size but only heavier is that right?
