alright guys, here is the deal. blue ray disc is a media storage with way more available capacity. (compare a DVD “traditional ps2, xbox360, xbox, wii, pc games” all use DVD for the most part. A High End DVD has a rough 8 Gb for Storage. PS3 takes advantage of a near 25 to 30 Gb of Available memory.)
*what that means… Video Game developers are capable of Creating Character models, world Maps, CG scenes, Etc Etc with more colors, polygons, and higher resolutions. all of this boils down to “if you want superior Graphics, you need more storage. Hence Blue Ray Disc.

- for the next bit. - like i said im too stone to look it up, but if you really want to know, go to your local Gamestop and ask the clerk. He will pull out the “Tech Spec” sheet and let you take a gander all you want.
*you should look for the following :
1. average frame rate of Ps3 v. xbox360
2. Maximum and Average polygons Per Second
3. Cpu Refresh cycles
3. Gpu refresh cycles.
4. Clock times. (usually in mhz. and are usually connected with number 3 on the list.)
5. Available Gpu and Cpu Wired and unwired RAM.
6. and basically what ever else.

* you WILL find that the pS3 out performs the Xbox360 by a substantial amount.

_Finally_ this is the pisser right here.
logically, and imperically proven with Video Stress tests, (that means by used of quantitative analysis, Freakin Numbers, people. ) the ps3 is capable of some very pretty, and smooth gameplay. out performing the Xbox 360 in all categories.
* it just cost sooooooo much more for a game developer to create these wonderful pieces of eye candy. now why is that you might ask. well, because a good game developer (square Enix for example) will take advantage of every last byte of memory a Blue ray disc has available, that means more employees, more time, more labor, blah blah you get the idea.

games will come to the ps3. it just takes time. i’m not knocking your xbox 360. but please think about it in terms of performance.

serious game developers will spend serious amounts of time (and presumably money) in order to create superior games for a superior console.

who knows if a console will die, or which one will be first. either the Xbox360 for its “ring of death” or not so superior but many more games. or the Ps3 for taking their God Damned Dear Sweet Time with producing spectacular games.

as far as next gen is concerned, next gen, As with all Tech Gadgits, the trend seems to be that, Stonger, Faster, More memory, more P-gons per second, more colors, usually wins. with the exception of the ungodly pricey Sega Saturn or Sega cd. (Sega just cant catch a break.)

Next Gen has nothing to do with if you like it or if people buy it. Next Gen is exactly that, Newer, and better. (Imperically Speaking. you should think, the next gen of Computers almost always involves bigger Hardrives, faster Cpu’s and Gpu’s, more RAM, Etc.) its the same with Consoles.
