Update: Friend chat rooms have received a complete overhaul. They’re much sexier with a couple new options. But again, nothing overly impressive.
Update: At first glance, I ain’t too impressed. Still no in game access to the XMB… Extremely disappointed I cannot enjoy my own tunes while kicking ass in WarHawk. I notice a few visual enhancements, nothing spectacular. Information bar is annoying, fortunately it can be disabled. Themes — saw it all before on the PSP. Remote Start is the coolest addition. Weak.

I tested out the remote play via internet…I got the PS3 to turn on remotely…followed by an error message saying it couldn’t connect…I tried again and I got another message saying that I need to update the firmware. I’m currently on 3.71 M33-2. I think this may be a feature for the PSP 3.72 (or higher). I just hope Sony won’t recognize that we’re on a custom firmware when using remote play via the internet…

Remote Start works with 3.72 HX-1, but when I shut off the PS3 in Remote Play and try to restart it with Remote Start again, the PS3 won’t start up.
Aw damn, 6 hours until school ends.

Remote play is buggy as hell. DONT UPDATE if you use remote play!!

The information bar froze my ps3 about 3 times now…It makes the system more instable so i recommend to turn it off, its useless anyways.
Remote play works fine with the 3.72 HX-1 like previously mentionned^^ but i had the same problem sommetimes when i turn the ps3 off with the remote menu of the psp the ps3 wont restart on remote, but its still a great improvement for the future.
ok, this is rewaly weird, everythging workes fine except for one thing…. I have the official ps3 virtical stand the one with the blue led’s round the side which i plugged into the first or bottom usb port on my ps3, looks cool but since I updated to firmware version 2 the led’s now flash once or twice every 30 seconds, is it a bug or something as there is not a way to stop them flashing unless i turn them off?

firmware update + ps3 = more protection
more protection + ps3 = NO ISO LOADER

Your right, before I bought my lovely PS3 I was thinking about buying a WII. The thing is that my brother told me not to waste money on a cheap and stupid console as the WII. Thanks to my brother I made the right decision and buy the PS3. -+-PEACE-+-
nice choice of system, considering the PS3 is still at the bottom low of consoles behind the PS2, thats pretty sad, Wii and 360 all the way.

Problem.
I use Nero Media Home to stream my movies, photos, and music to the PS3. I upgraded to Update 2.0 yesterday. Last night we wanted to watch a movie and i get a “file corruption error” for ALL my movies when trying to stream. So i tried restarting the PS3 and i get the same thing. I tested with my photos and music and they stream fine.
If you use Nero Media Home to stream movies, photos, and music please post if your movies are streaming with no errors. Im calling Sony to see if they are aware or can do anything, which im doubtful. Anyway just a heads up for anyone else and if you figure out the issue plz post.
You must force Mpeg-2 video format instead of auto-detect. At least that worked for me. I used Mpeg-2 (High bit rate).

hey has anyone had any problems with getting on the internet i tried today just after i downloaded it and it froze i restarted the ps3 did it again it froze is FW 2.0 just real buggy or is it just my problem?

Disappointed there’s no hacked firmware yet….. I am not touching my PS3 until it get’s hacked…… It’s really tempting my though……
1- get an Infectus mod chip.
2- use it to back up the low firmware you have before you upgrade
3- upgrade only slightly at first just to make sure you have it installed correctly to know that you are able to downgrade.
4- in theory, you can then upgrade to your heart’s content and then return to your previous firmware anytime you want if there is ever a hack made for it.
5- if you are advanced and knowledgable in the type of coding needed for writing firmwares, you could possibly use the chip to write your own custom firmware or edit an existing firmware.
ok, my question is, does the PS2 disc swap method still work on this and other new firmwares? (i mean, where you take apart the Blu Ray drive and manually pull the disc out and swap it). Also, has anyone tested this or other new firmwares with the Infectus chip to see if there is any loss in downgrade functionality towards firmwares 1.10 and lower?
