No bullshit this time! Posted over on the PlayStation Blog is official word of firmware version 2.0. It’s said to be released in the next few days. Other sources are saying that day is tomorrow — we’ll see… Whether it be tomorrow or the next few days, here’s the reported new features:
- Receive news directly from Sony regarding anything and everything PlayStation — store updates, hardware, accessories, games — that’s delivered through the “Information Board”;
- Enhance the way you access and organize your media — now you can create custom playlists for music & photos;
- A new enhancement to Remote Play called Remote Start — turn your PS3 on remotely with the PSP from any available Wi-Fi spot. Then use Remote Play to access your PS3 media. You can also put your PS3 back into standby mode;
- Customize your XMB — background, icons, sounds, etc… Themes will be served through the PlayStation store. Also the ability to create your own original themes;
- And more…

Everyone is getting mad that 2.0 doesn´t SEEM to have in-game XMB.
Poor sony.
Well always when they start fixing up things (Dualshock3) they screw they rest up.
I wounld´t be surprised if 2.0 comes with some problems. And then 2.1 comes fixing everything.
They are speeding things too much.
They should at least get everything packed into a single update. That would make people more happier. (Its freaking annnoying have to dl thousends of 199mb updates…)
And tekken 5 online patch for europe?

i thimk sony should sort out and fix all current problems weather they be major or minor and add the stuff that should have been designed befor the ps3 was set to launch befor adding any newly designed features, then make the features downloadeble instead of the whole update, it would make mor hd space pluss allow us ps3 users to download ehat and when we need it.
Its not that it has problems, but i wish they’d hurry up with new features.

Ohnestly i was hoping for more in this update. Like the in game music, or some other cool stuff. I really dont give a rats ass about sony news, remote play and organizing the media. To me, sony’s xmb is good but how about taking out the xmb and using linux as instead, or how about giving us the a beta release of home or something. One thing i must commend sony on is there patience to achieve the best. We need to start releasing our own firmware updates for the ps3 soon!

ok finally downloading the FW cant wait to see whats new exept the stuff u wrote
to the people mad about ingame music if u notice they added the ability to make a playlist not tell what would be the point of ingame music if you had to stop and pick the next song u wanna cuz u dont have playlist take that as a hint that its coming damn stop whining i want it to… but geez it could be worse… and u know sony never gives u everything in one shot so everyone should be used to it as for the update it is a very good one for me as im into customizing my ps3… sony is making the overall effort they had address the issue… even advertisment wise in the past week id seen nothing but ps3 commercials and ad and maybe 1 or 2 360 ones… i feel a change in the weather :o)
bob in dev had the great idea of renaming 1.94 to 2.0 to keep everyone happy. home will now be released under 2.5, yawn
ok everyone keeps going on about home this home that, did anyone acctually say that home will be released with or just after fw 2? or was it jus asumed? I mean come on give the guys a rest! sony are not as good as ms but give them credit! The 360 has been out longer than the ps3 and we are over half way to meating the 360’s xmb, we can do more with ours than you can on the 360.
