Sadly the title says it all… I don’t know whether to cry or toss my PS3 through the window. Anyway, chelsea_fc has shared this heart-wrenching news with me, and now I’ll share with you –
Sony said on Thursday it would postpone the launch of the Home virtual community service for its PlayStation 3 game console to early next year, the latest setback in its video game battle with Microsoft and Nintendo.
The 3D Home online service, in which players can create and “own” characters and content, was originally scheduled for launch this autumn.
Sony Computer Entertainment, the video game unit of Sony, said it was postponing the launch to improve product quality.
Whaaat, early next year?! C’mon Sony, smarten up!
Yeah, yeah, I know — this doesn’t relate to hacking the PS3, but it’s something we’re all looking forward too. Right? In the meantime, my frustration gets taken out on you — in a game of WarHawk! Eucadia, Death Match, Urban Strike — watch yourself!

Not a huge deal…there are some great games to keep us busy until then. I’m interested in the addition of downloading games via the Playstion Store on your PC that they’ve announced. I would love to test how PS1 games get transferred onto the PS3 Hard Drive…I’ve managed to get PS1 gamesave data on the PS3 from games that were created by Popstation…hopefully we’ll be able to figure out how to transfer the PS1 isos!
Im pi**ed off, i was lookin forward to the release of home and thought it would really justify my decision to sell, my 360 for a ps3 but sony jus keep delaying things and its kinda anoying me now, home better be worth it anyway thanks for the update.

There must have been a reason more signifigant than product quality…I assume there will be frequent updates to the home software as time goes by. Maybe they should have released it in the fall and come out with updates to address the quality issues…how is Warhawk by the way?
warhawk is the best game i have played in my life, so yeah, its pretty good.

it could have something to do with them wanting to make sure both the PSP and PS3 are totally unhackable by then. Reason being, that they probably want to create virtual real estate in the HOME environment and sell digital property to people, like you can buy a virtual home on there for a certain price, and a virtul car, etc. Which will mean lots of credit card numbers going around, and nervous people afraid to spend money due to ‘the hackers’. It could be something like that, but I dont know much about the project so I could be way off. I still think it would be funny if people hacked it so that you could burn people alive and trap them in little rooms until they freak out and piss themselves like in the SIMS. Or just bring in a bunch of virtual guns and start some mayhem that noone will be expecting in the peaceful serene environment of HOME. lol

i think its a good thing that theyre delaying it if its not ready, imagine the fuss that everyone would make if they released it full of bugs and glitches. (like a certain other company begining with M would..) probably the same people who are moaning about it being delayed would be moaning about it bein a load of crap. next year is only 3 months away now, its not as long as it seems! im pretty sure sony have 100s of guys slaving away 25 hrs of the day gettin Home ready. they understand the importance of getting home to work and be successful and the decision to delay it wouldnt of been taken lightly. anyway, enough typing, time for more ninja gaiden sigma! :P

I spent $600 for a gaming system with hardly any good games. Sony needs to get off their lazy ass’s and put out tons more games and get Home released as well. Until then, PS3 sits collecting dust as I play Xbox 360 online.
Well. I have no spare money to buy a xbox 360 so i can only try to finish resistance for the 7th time.

MGS4 didnt get delayed, it actually got pushed front, GTA isent ps3 fault since its also delayed by other consoles, HOME is free i dont understand the big deal, but ya as of now its sucsess is delayed, but no dout it will own bye the end of 08

Sony being a Japanese company follows QA, which involves reducing variation so everyone has similar experiance, that is why we think of japanese products to be high quality and stirdy due to their business mentality of producting high quality products. All in all a less buggy program is more desirable :D. Way to go SONY!!!, imagine a buggy program it will recieved reviews which will bring down the brand name of Sony!!!

i’m seriously dumbstruck by sonys bussiness sense. Microsoft releases Halo 3. Sony delays home. I’m honestly considering trading my ps3 for a 360. The sad thing is theres no good rational reason not to, other than blind faith in sony. tell me i’m wrong.
look guys if you’ve been a loyal fan of playstation from the start then you should beuse to this. they are the masters of delaying but for some starnge reason they always get back on top. a year from know we’ll be talking about how great sony you’ll see =)
