Remember the whole ordeal behind this supposed .TIF exploit? Well, turns out it is actually useful for something else. As demonstrated in the video below, using the same .TIF, you can launch and play PS3 titles which require a later firmware version. Great for those who remain below 1.93 and have high hopes of an ISO loader being released, one day. :)

if you understand how this works, you’d understand that this will NOT lead to a backup/iso loader.
It just temporarily freezes the ps3 and causes it to not check your firmware. It’s no exploit, its a glitch.

Yeah it does clip in an out but thats cause the video is made in three parts, For one whole updated video check youtube
PS. A note is that the both the games have to be the same region ie PAL to PAL an cant be like PAL to NTSC
well if this is true it’s great, but I hope they wil find something for fw2.00 cause I want home too and seeing how things are now you won’t be starting home from a disc. but then again, this is only bypassing fw for know, when they are able to launch backups, then it will be really wortwhile to make it work under fw2.00

it doesn’t…it’s for bypassing firmware checks, not other various disc checks, this [should be] the same .tif file as before, and it did not load up ANY back-ups…

I don’t think an ISO loader should be released anyway. You guys are just too cheap to buy games. I’d like to customize my XMB and be able to run more video formats. Homebrew would be nice, but that’s why they have Other OS. Hacking the PS3 is interesting and seems to be a good challenge but what would really come from it? The fact you cheap assholes don’t have to buy games, I guess.
dude what the hell are you talking about? i still bought games for my chipped ps2. but half assed crappy games that i wouldnt buy in the first place i burned. i have original dvds of all my favourite ps2 games and i wouldnt want it any other way. i unlike you seem to have realized you can still support ur favourite titles by bying the games u like and playing backups while u wait for the sequals. and i really hope you dont wanna play downloaded movies with the new video formats ur talking about after that whole speach u gave about buying games you dumb bimbo

on my ps3 it just comes up with corrupted data does it not work on europeon ps3’s or something
does anyone know about how can you login to the PSN without updating the firmware with the .tif method? or is it just for bypassing the newer games?
the other TIF files i got never worked but this one does. its great, but kind of useless to what i was hoping for so far. still an important step though. theres got to be a way to use that file to inject code like the TIF file was used with the PSP.
i have not done a successful disc swap yet, but i only have one Blu Ray game. I’ve got a Japan unit, and i tried swapping Japan PS1 and PS2 games with US ones and it didnt work. i got the error code. oh well.
and another thing. if you put it in a file called “PHOTOS” it wont do anything on mine, but if you put it in “PICTURES” then it works.

This thing does NOT work, at least on 1.31. I have tested with all the TIFF out there and none of them work. Games just boot right in.
Btw, it is NOT PHOTOS or PICTURES folder, it is PICTURE (without the S) folder you need to place the file in. But regardless, it’s just another bull shit

dont you need space for a iso loader? The PS3 will only see drives formated in fat 32. That means you can’t store games on it larger the 3-4 gigs. If you cant store the games on the hard drive how are you going to use it? Can you format ext hard drives in half NTFS AND FAT 32?
