Update: Ooo… Something I’ve wanted and I vaguely recall others mentioning it too… It seems if the controller is idle for X amount of time, it automatically shuts off; rather than wasting the batteries. This wasn’t present in 1.92, was it?
There isn’t much surrounding the PS3 hacking scene these days — just wannabes with their fake videos. In lieu of the PS3 hacks, Sony continues blasting out firmware updates; which can be quite discouraging, I’m sure. On a brighter note — this means we’re closer to the release of Home. That’s something to look forward too, right? :)
According to official word at the PlayStation.Blog — this update fixes the network disconnect issue that some may have experienced as a result of installing firmware 1.92. Check back shortly for additions / changes, whatever else Sony decided to put in this update.

umm the download gets canceled at 4%. it says that some error occurred i tried 3 times.

on a lighter note… NHL 08 IS TANK… the 30 fps (i found) hardly noticeable…. its really good… graphics, goaltending, defense…. too god damn hard to score… but it wouold b great if some1 could hack the Edge code :D
what the hell ive been trying to update for 30 mins already and it keeps stopping at 4 now i cant log in to psn until i update… this is starting to piss me off…
Yeah, thats happened to me, but keep trying i got the update after 6 times.
To all those who have had problems connecting in FW 1.92 go and delete your cache and cookies from the Browser Settings…I was having this same exact problem and after clearing the stuff out it’s worked ever since!

The update is downloading pretty quickly for me… I have a 30Mb connection so it flew right by the 4% mark.. Maybe there were alot of people downloading the update at the time you guys tried to download it…. Now its installing and im really hope theres something new in this one.. Sony needs to stop releasing these bullshit updates and give us things we can use….

it had 2 bars — probably around 35% remaining or something. I turned it back on and gamed for a bit — still hasn’t died. Bizarre.

The idle controller shut down has been present for awhile. I’m not sure whether it was 1.92 update or 1.90
Well, the guys from this site must update the front page with the PSXLoader releasing news, or are they filling their pockets with Sony´s money to only release firmware news? You guys are many steps below other hacking news sites, you guys must think (question) why. Are this arranged by Sony?
Guys… you can now play homebrews on your PS3, like PS2 Media player, Emulators and more, with the new PSXLoader.
Its a good way to cheat the PS3, making homebrews based on the PS2 plataform with the intent to make them run on the PS3. Maybe that was the fact behind sony discontinued the PS2 hardware inside the PS3 console. The now only do it by emulation, tsch-tsch Sony, im disapointed with you. Now hackers have a way to program their homebrews, maybe now they can program the all famous ISO Loader.
yes i had the same problem my controller was also on 2 bars and for some reason it turned of while i was playing a game and it kept turning off.
i’m glad to hear that im not the only one who’s firmware is messing up at 4%.
Mine stalled at 4% the first try, but worked the second try. I still get randomly disconnected though, worthless update.

For those of you whose controller shuts down itself, how long do you have to wait for that?
ya how long? i dunno if its my controller or something in the the firmware (since 1.9) but my controller will lose connection or sumthin while playing games, happens for bout 3 seconds before it responds again and by then im either dead or my car has ran into a wall. anyone else have this problem? maybe it just my controller but it didn’t do it when i first got my ps3 about 2 months ago and i have never dropped it or anything.
My controller does that sometimes too. Once it got stuck in a motion sensor position.

i dont know if this was in the 1.92 (or always been there and i never noticed) or if its new to the 1.93 but on the music and photos you can change the way the content is grouped by pressing square instead of triangle then goin to the menu

EVEN WITH 1.93 I STILL HAVE TO GO TO NETWORK SETTINGS AND REDO MY CONNECTION TO BE ABLE TO SIGN INTO PSNETWORK OR TO GET ON THE INTERNET. THIS IS DUMB!!! THEY SAY THEY WILL FIX IT BUT IT IS THE SAME AS 1.92 – AT LEAST FOR ME IT IS.
