This is quite interesting… Im currently on 1.6 and this update is quite tempting… With a bit more testing we might be able to run our backed up Ps1 games.. Finally something worthwile……….

on my ps3 i play a few games till im sick of them then ebay them and buy a couple more, my psp’s got oe3.3 so i can play to my hearts content on that.
The problem with loaders is you just end up being a games tryer and not a player.

I very much agree with that last comment by Wayne Car. and he certaintly is a wayne car. But it’s true.. I have been pirating since 1983 and seriously there so many games that you just don’t sit down and play em you just start playing the first level and then your download finishes for another game and your onto that.. and you also spend a lot of time hooking up with these downloads.. so maybe the loader aint such a gr8 thing afterall.. just buy the sweetest games and leave the rest behind.

Where is the fix for transferring music to my PS3? How about being able to browse my network? C’mon Sony hook a brother up man! This isnt all that great of an update.

Hm, more specific, where is the PSX games? I live in sweden and i don’t see them in the Playstation Store.

i’m not sure if i buy this. Sure, they’re going to probably launch a 1.70 update, but with no confirmed story, i can’t really believe it.

It’s real, just updated and can confirm the story replicates what comes up as changed. I.e. big fscking deal, but good for retro gamers I suppose.

They still haven’t fixed the audio limitations, and dts files are still not passed through to the receiver, the shit fscks it up by converting to stereo garbage.

And I HATE they way you cannot long on until you do the update. Grrrr.

it seem that with version 1.70 using proxy server to install game from pc will no longer work. it will give you error while installing. but with 1.60 it was fine. should have install all the game first then upgrade. this suck.

My PS3 is still 1.50 and i’m waiting ISO Loader but how long yet?????

sorry, but you people waiting for the loader will be waiting a looooooong time. Sony have got the “g0ds” on the run this time. Paracocks will never get a loader working and even if they did, the next update would destroy all the work , and you’d miss the latest new additions to the firmware from Sony if you decided not to update. Just update to 1.7 and use the PS3 as it was meant to be.

I have updated, Not expecting any loader. This console is gonna get chipped, back to the old days of games ripping - Now it will be ripping Blu Ray Discs and putting them on DVDs..

I don’t understand how to turn the rumble function on or how to play PSone games on the ps3. can sumone pleez pleez pleeeeeez help me out.

I had 2 psp, one of them 1.50 and another with OE. Fortunately, the only game I played for than 5 minutes was the time before the memstick swap occured. Since after, I haven’t played a damn single level of any games. I broke them both, I completely lost interest in it cause of loaders..its just too much.

It is out and now i’m updating
I’ve updated too far and figure, it’s gonna waste B-D’s to back up anyways at this point, so I’m updating…
The PSP makes more sense with easier dgs and cfws and the ability to load it up off the stick

so with this update can i play my backed up PS1 and PS2 games??

Started installing the update via the network option and it has now been stuck at 99% for 2 hours ….Sony has fucked up my machine!!! I now have a £400 brick, ta very much Sony you pricks!!!!

I have a PSP with 1.50 FW running the OE FW but as someone mentioned before, you get the iso’s but then you rarely play most of them.
So with PS3 I’d rather make this one legit and enjoy the few games i’ll be able to buy. Life is to short to try and get all iso’s. The gotta catch em all mentality is draining from me.

lol why update? update only 1.50 and use ps3 proxy, with that you can do all and load demos! some demos you can aktivate to a full game :D

YOU MUST READ MY LITTLE DILEMA…

I bought my brand new PS3 last week on Tuesday 17th and updated to 1.60 and everything was running fine, no issues. Upgraded to Firmware 1.70 on Friday night just to realize my PS3 was useless the next morning: It should just freeze while doing anything, it also started turning off by itself and giving me a flashing red light. I called Sony Support and told them about the issue. They had me trying different power outlet, etc and no dice. They’re now sending me a pre-paid shipping box to return my console and I was told I will receive a new one once they get mines. Anyone else having any issues after upgrading?

i was on psp firmware 303 oe c and ps3 firmware 1.5 and i could conect both consoles to gather with wifi to watch movies and play mp3’s,but i couldnt play games online with my ps3.so i updated my ps3 to 1.70so that i could go online.it worked but my psp wont conect any more and i need to register them with each other now.so i updated my psp to 3.40 oe a and every thing is working fine but iv not had chance yet to see if all my psp games work properly,and i dont think ill chance custom themes on it just yet maybe in 1 or 2 more revisions of custom firmware
