remember when SONY did minidiscs players??

umd's are probably the dvd version of the minidiscs and the drive must have been upgraded with an faster motor and dvd lens... my guess.

then they just glued that to an lcd screen, 400mhz processor, wifi board, batt, buttons, ms reader and BAM!! PSP!

again i'm no pro but from inside the psp, it looks like i'm right.

in the end, history will remember the minidiscs and the umds as a failed medium with a short lifespan that cost a fortune when it came out and worthless a few years later... (u can find some minidisc players in your local pawnshop, probably)

i still use my vhs and buy movies (a buck or two, used, of course) lol

Topic posters= fail
people complaing about Topic = Fail
isoloader = Fail
OffTopic = Fail
_____________
nuff fail there to last a year.
First of all, The Ps3 Community should know that no matter whether or not you update or not you simply keep or destroy whatever entertainment you have which requires a firmware update.
Second.
Its now 2010 and there is no sign of custom firmware for ps3, or any kind of patch hack or other exploits, just tools
...tools and probably save game back ups..all reletively
normal.
Third.
If half you people have enough time to bitch-post or critisize the other half, you have enough time to join Ps3-Hacks Folding@Home Team and start making hack attempts yourself for a damn change.
Fourth
All i can see is blah blah iso loader ,size of dvd or blu-ray, DL torrent, messageboards, news boards. if i downloaded this. how do i get this...if you downloaded that your a retard,
FIFTH!!
IMO, your all acting the trollups and failing miserably.
there wont be an isoloader, untill some developer says so, there wont be CFW for PS3 until some developer says so. there wont be any PS3 Hacks until Ps3-hacks or the dash hacks network SAYS SO!!

So lets leave it at that shall we ;)
my Signature :P

Seems to e like most of the people here haven't got a clue what they are on about in all honesty.

bdfoster was right
PS1 Games are CD’s
PS2 Games are DVD’s
PS3 Games are BluRay’s
PSP Games are UMD’s Not mini DVD's... 2 different things altogether. May look the same but they are not.

BD are UP TO 25GB single layer and UP TO 50GB DL Which means that a game, whilst the files are f*cking massive, can use anything up to that capacity. This doesn't mean it uses all of that! Think about a multi-format game on WII, 360 and PS3. The 360 and PS3 look THE SAME yet 360 games are on a typycal 4.7GB DVD. So what's the PS3 got included the 360 ain't. The WII which is also on DVD looks poor quality. This is due to the processing power. Obviously the WII couldn't hold a candle to 360 or PS3 as far as graphics go.

so basically what i'm saying is AT THE MOMENT there isn't really a great deal more detail on BD than DVD so the iso would be considerably small. The reason sony chose BD is due to the fact the PS3 has arse-opening processing power and in the future will NEED the capcity BD offers to hold the data required to give us some sick ass gaming. Just think when 3D gaming comes out... your gunna need that 50GB

PSP games are UMD’s
(UMD's are mini DVD's single(900mb) or double layer(1.8gb) disc. same as DVD. hence Mini DVD's.just smaller in size)

Some early PS2 games were still CDs
(your right, which are for games with small file sizes. very much like PS1 games boxed for PS2 but burned with a standard CDR used for PS1)

games actualy take like ten gb. the rest is just a null file so that the can properly from a disc. the loader will probably just dump the 6 to 10 gb that is actually the game and not even need the dummy file.
