A much simpler PS3 Proxy app is now available from 3r1c. This is a great alternative to CF3B5’s proxy server. Essentially both operate in the same fashion — allowing you to install downloadable PlayStation Store titles, games and/or demos, via your PC — but now you have a choice! ;)
Although, PS3 Proxy definitely has its advantages…

I can’t get it to run. All I get is .OCX not correctly registered. File is missing or invalid.
Any suggestions?
i can’t get it to work either. i get this error:
“Component ‘MSWINSCK.OCX’ or one of its dependencies is not correctly registered: a file is missing or invalid”

theres no readme, what are you soposto do plz some one help!
1) make sure u have MSWINSCK.OCX in the same folder as the file.
2) open the exe file choose the file or url u want to download. (the links to the games are in the thread.)
3) now go to your ps3 go to network settings and choose evrything manual till u get to proxy choose use proxy use the settings it says in the exe and your done.
4) now go to the store download any game demo and itll download from your pc instead of the store.
currently i only got 2 of the games to work and looking into the files
This is cool… Im glad I didnt rush to the original app with 20+ steps Lol… Anyway, most people dont need this because they are up to date with their firmware… I tip my hat to those patient enough to sacrifice online play for the hope of some homebrew… But, just like PsP, I think the Ps3 will be hacked inside out and your version wont matter sooner or later so… The hell with it…… ;)

i get to the part where it says go to ps3 and enter this ip and this port number, then i press ok, then nothing comes up, i click on it again and it says this program is already running. i dont know what to do, please help me someone.

works fine for me seems like something from your pc is causing it to hide but its still there
try hitting ctrl+alt+del and if u see it running click switch too and it should unhide it

This software doesent work sure it transfers the game but when i tried to install tekken dark ressurection it had an error installing and when i tried to play blast factor it said this content cannot be accessed on your account wtf how do they do that ?

the games are locked except those 2 if u wait u will eventually be able to play it someone will eventually figure it out but for now u cant play ANY GAMES thats not called Gripshift or Sudoku.
i think this proxy hack may be a great way to install homebrew games. Or backed up ps3 games. Just a thought. Maybe someone more knowledgeable can work on this side of hacking :)
Okay i searched some more i guess people are already running full speed with getting the ps3 store games working. I guess now we just need to understand the PKG format so we can make our own packages :) HOMEBREW BAYBY!!!

I’m using Simple DNS Plus to run my PS3 on old firmware and this PS3 Proxy App doesn’t work with it, at least for me. It seems the only way to run it is first I need upgrade my firmware.
i try it too and not working and i thought too about the upgrade, but if u upgrade u can just download demos normaly so we are screwed, i guess we need to upgrade to play demos or anything else.
This doesnt work. I tried to download 4 different games and onl one worked. Ive tried ova and ova. Am I missing something. Oh well, Ill go try Tekken again.

Is anybody in contact with the author of this? It works fine for me but I was wondering if it could be modified to do the same thing with video files, that is, re-direct to a video file on the PC, start a download of any movie or game trailer on the PS store and actually download the re-directed video file from the PC. Anybody?
how do you tell when the games will work
what if you don’t have a router? I use a direct LAN using a crossover cable… Do I need to set up the DNS or Gateway.. or do I do automatic until proxy then set up the proxy.. cause I can’t connect to the internet.. Please help me
I’ve also tried it on 2 different Windows XP machines and no window comes up after pressing OK, it just disappears, running in the ctrl-alt-del tool bar but can’t get it to appear. Anyone solve this problem?

I downloaded PS3 Proxy by 3r1c and it only has to files in it which are:
MSWINSK.OCX and ps3proxy
i clicked on ps3proxy and it shows a small window that has IP address and Proxy port
and a start button.
is that right, or did i download the wrong one?
