Since most of us don’t have bluray drives for our PC we have PS3 to aid us in our backup process.
This is the complete guide step-per-step:

(5.2 Download and install Ext2FS)
(5.3 Check enable write support for ext2/3)

Do i have to have a ext HDD. can i use my internal hdd ?
they’re pretty big…
yea. but if i put in a 200gb HDD inside. shouldent it go onto that ??
yeah, that’d be sufficient size.
sounds good to me, fuck all them blueray boycoters, bluray fo life.
can we see a step by step pic. guide, and does this mean we can play the movies yet. and if we can get the image transerfered to a computer coulndt we just burn the image on to a bd-r and play it in the ps3, how can we go about doing such things the same way we can with dvd’s thanx
This is pretty cool, but a 15 step setup is pretty “tedious”…..
While that sounds easy : )
Hell yeah…This is a great day in the world we create. Much respect to the ones busting their ass, for ish like this.
great step forward but way to much ‘work’ to be done do watch a movie i could just watch on dvd tbh.. i’m not gonna die if i dont watch a movie in HD.. but yeah great work :D
This is exactly the reason why Sony didn’t support homebrew on the psp. They were supporting it untill some fuckers like this guy started pirating games. Now in the future Sony will take away support for Linux and it’s all his fault.
@Daniel Briggs this is not called pirating for some people. Pirating for some people is where you burn and sell copies. And for others who is sensitive, it is where you make things work and make it free to the public. Hope anyone doesn’t get the wrong idea or get offended.
And for linux? actually ps3 is built for any latest OS and some old OS. Ps3’s purpose is not only playing games and playing movies in OS. Ps3 is the compilation of all your home’s entertainment needs and professional needs.
Try installing photoshop on a PS3 windows OS, its good also in editing and creating artworks.
ps3 draws some much power ever seen your house’s power meter goes when ps3 is on, spins like crazy.
