Blu-Ray Processing Keys Extracted

Posted by greg on February 13, 2007

A hacker by the name of Arnezami has successfully cracked Blu-Ray AACS-locked discs…

Arnezami, a hacker on the Doom9 forum, has published a crack for extracting the “processing key” from a high-def DVD player. This key can be used to gain access to every single Blu-Ray and HD-DVD disc.

Previously, another Doom9 user called Muslix64 had broken both Blu-Ray and HD-DVD by extracting the “volume keys” for each disc, a cumbersome process. This break builds on Muslix64’s work but extends it — now you can break all AACS-locked discs.

That didn’t take too long…

View the details of Arnezami’s discovery by clicking here. Nice job. ;)

This was done ages ago by SlySoft so it is no big news however, it is very impressive from an indepent guy. Get those BR disk drives ready for ripping!

sony is so damn happy with the ps3 hackers, because they see their exploits and they can fix it within the next firmware release
(tip: dont show the technical details of the hacks, that will be harder for sony to trace the real exploit)

@hmm and to everyone FYI sony is not happy at all, these hackers pay less $ than sony. Yes they can upgrade their whole firmware but these hacks won’t stop because of it’s fast growing knowledge about PS3. It will be a miracle to us all if we properly obey the system.

Sony paid billions of $ just for developing ps3 system and for the contracts that is protecting and developing it.

Hackers only pay not more than $20,000 or maybe none at all for making it free or just to have fun. Hackers also have heart, they will keep on looking at sony’s money until sony gets enough money. Then that will be the time when it is going to be just those law obeying people that properly obey the whole system.

That is why they can’t release it so soon. If it is going to this march then it will be quick at updating. Then these hacks will ly low for awhile then come back agen, you will all get the timing of these hacks if you always follow it’s timing.
