Easily turn your PS3 into a personal video recorder using Linux and the Plextor ConvertX DVR TV402U. MythTV, the homebrew PVR project, works great under PS3 Linux using GO7007 Video4Linux2 driver with the provided patches.
Patches:
GO7007 driver lacks compat ioctl routines for 32bit userland/64bit kernel configuration. And Video4Linux2’s compat-ioctl32.c seems quite incomplete. These patches fix the problem on PS3 Linux. Not yet tested well, it just works for me.
- ps3-go7007.patch: Patch against wis-go7007-linux-0.9.8.tar.bz2.
- ps3-compat-ioctl32.patch: Patch against linux-20061208.tar.bz2.
Of course, there’s no problem with ppc64 userland on ppc64 kernel.
