As you’ve probably heard the PS3 is capable of running Linux PPC distributions — this includes Fedora Core 5, Ubuntu, SuSE, etc… Essentially any PPC Linux distro should theoretically work.
Sony has yet to release the “Other OS” installer which will aid in the Linux installation process; when more information becomes available you can read it here on Sony’s Open Platform website.
In the meantime, “Power Developer” has released Linux kernel patches (2.6.19), a bootloader, and some useful documentation — all tools required to make Linux boot on the PS3.

Ok how (using widows vista or xp) do you hack a ps3 . Does a chip have to be soldiered, firmware, will it play copied and do yo need a blueray burner. Is it similar to original xbox hack.
